Locrian
Admission Tix to PBE's 6th piano recital. And also to watch broddy's performance. :D
I have to admit, I am not very musically inclined. I was very fortunate to be given a chance to learn piano at a very tender age. But well, I chose to gave it up after Grade 1.
The event was held at Jubilee Hall @ Raffles Hotel.
The stage.
And that is my broddy.. ***Waves***
And the supporters. :D
My broddy's eye is swollen that day. So pardon the funny looking eyes of my broddy. HAHA. :D
The event showcased students from PBE. And most of the audiences are families and friends of the participants. Most of them can play jolly well with a few being very good. I din know piano can be classified as classical piano, jazz piano and pop piano.
I am so proud of him and love him so much. :D Great job there and continue to jiayousss... And without much further ado, I present to you my brother.
I wanted to film down the whole thing. But I thought my camera's mic is spoiled and so I stopped recording. And got mrtat to continue to record for me using his phone. But it turned out actually only the camera's speaker is spoiled.
And we witnessed a proposal towards the end of the event. On the list, we saw a question mark face, named as the novice. That put alot of ??? in our head. So who is the novice?
After he played his piece, he stood up and said alot of touching words. Walked to his gf (who is amongst the audience) and proposed to her. Plus he specially picked up piano for the proposal. And only began learning in Feb 2009. To add on to the stress, his gf is a grade 8 pianist.
I bet it was a really really nice surprise to the gf. Cos she was invited to the recital by her sister. And thus she had no idea that the proposal was coming.
There have been alot of romantic and nice proposals going on. I bet mrtat is racking his brain for a better one.
BECAUSE I CLAIMED THAT THAT IS SO NORMAL.. LOL!! (The effect of sour grapessss...)
Secretly, I think it is really romantic can. Kneeling down in front of so many strangers and proclaiming your love. Is like one of the last thing a man's ego will allow him to do.
And seriously this is the first time I witnessed a proposal. All my friends' bf proposed to them in private one leh.
And I secretly wonder how would mine be.

Fatterfly's 25th This is way belated. Celebrated mrtat's bday with him on the 2nd Dec. The same day as the end of exams. :D
It took me quite awhile to think of what to get for him. Well, as I am on a tight budget. And that mrtat doesnt actually want anything from me. I decided that I shall bring him somewhere instead.
He had been mentioning about wanting to bake a cake together. Or cook together. Or make some food together. And thus, I decided we should go for some baking session.
After doing intensive research, I settled with Phoon Huat. :)
Sorry for the really horrid looking me. Had a 9am paper prior to this baking session.
We baked fruit cake and made mango & strawberry orea dessert.
Thereafter, we headed back to mrtat's home For yummy home cooked bday feast. Celebrated mrtat's bday with his family. Thereafter mrtat came over to my place for a stay over To send me off the next day.
Anyway, baking is so fun can... :D Cant wait to have our own home, And we shall explore cooking/baking together. :D
Because of exams and my bkk trip, The hehs celebrated mrtat's 25th last Friday.
Ericia suggested Imperial Treasure. Which all of us think is superb. :D Yippy to XLBs and La Mian...
I'm craving for XLBs at this very moment. :D
Mrtat "anticipating" the arrival of his cake. The waitress got us all chuckling When she came over to our table And announce/confirm that she is going to bring the cake.
And the arrival of the anticipated cake. :D
Handsome mrtat with his cake.
Nice photo of Bug. I wonder what got her laughing so happily.
Hans decided to show us how to change face in split seconds. And I think he did a marvelous job. LOL!!
Unique and interesting photo of Hans and Carol. It seems that they are in a world of their own. :D Nice!!!
We wanted to catch a movie, 风云 II, But there wasnt good seats available. And thus we gave it a miss.
And we settled for pool.
Group photo.
Oh and I love the series of pool photo taken and edited by ZZ. I bet you will go Whooo and Ahhhh after seeing the photos.
These 3 shots were taken at the "expense" of zz's camera lens. LOL~~~
The teacher and the student.
The real pro, Ericia. Very serious and professional. NICE!!!
Miss Smartie is playing pool. She is good at all sports can, unlike me.
Miss Demure + pool = Emo & Sexy...
Mrtat, handsome as always.
Mr Genius and Miss Smartie. :D
I think Ericia shot this just while we were walking out. Me likey like. :D

BKK 031209-071209 Day 1 031209 The flight was scheduled to be at 1600. And mrtat went along with me to send me off. :)
Departure at Terminal 2.
Pardon me, the mountain tortoise. This is my 2nd time on board a SIA plane. First was when I was very very much younger. Thereafter, I always book my flight early and opt for budget airlines.
The food on the plane. Had Sweet and Sour Fish on my flight there. It wasnt all too bad, like I mention before. :)
Sawadee Ka. Arrival at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport.
If you are travelling with 5-7 ppl with relative medium luggage. There are big taxis available at the airport. However, the charges would not be by meter. But a pre-agreed amount depending on the distance. For mine, it is 700baht inclusive of everything.
I think it is cheaper than arranging for transportation from the hotel.
This time round, I stayed at Royal President. Royal President is situated at Sukhumvit 15. The rooms are pretty big and decent. I thought it is rather value for money. :)
But I wouldnt say it is the best location. It is about 10-15 mins walk from the nearest skytrain station. 10-15 mins seem short. But trust me, Walking is the last thing you want to do after 12 hours of shopping.
Oh but that is also of course because there are 5 of us. And taking a taxi is not very worth it. Thus, skytrain and mrt are our main transportation for the trip.
If travelling in group sufficient to split nicely into cabs. Then I would say this hotel is superb. They have connecting rooms as well, Which mean everyone can get cosy together at night.
My BTS SmartPass. I would think it is better to buy a SmartPass than to buy single trip passes. This is of course ultimately up to preference. And I kept the SmartPass for memory sake.
First stop, Siam Square. It was very very crowded even though it was Thursday Night. Alot of road stores at night. I dont remember it to be like that a couple of years back.
A photo with the family...
We settled to dine at a Food Court in Siam Paragon. Simply because we couldnt find other food to eat.
Thai food are very strong in flavor. Very sweet. Very spicy. Very sour. Nothing much like those thai foods serve in SG, I personally feel that they have been localized to suit our taste buds.
Buying this man chiang kui lookalike thing. Which mommy claimed was introduced as a 美食 in 美食大三通. The conclusion, it was not to our liking at all. Too overly sweet!!!
Close up of the man chiang kui...
Did some grocery shopping at Siam Paragon's Supermarket. I have no idea why we are doing grocery shopping in BKK. LOL!!! Bought a few packets of lays potatoes chips. Cos they have this Tom Yum flavor one which cannot be found in SG.
And there after, we retreated back to the hotel to rest. 俗语说的好: "休息是为了走更长的路。"
Ending Day 1 with a photo of the hotel's tuk tuk.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Day 2 041209 The start of Day 2. And probably the most enjoyable day of the whole trip. :D
Breakfast at Royal President... Something I really like about having breakfast in this hotel is that I dont look like a refugee at BKK. There are more Japanese, Korean and Caucasian. And very minimal amount of Singaporeans, unlike Asia and Baiyoke Sky.
And the plus point, they served yummy American breakfast here. I had to start my day off with their yummy hotcakes. :D
Our station breakfast table every morning.
The hotel provides shuttle service from the hotel to the BTS station. They provide for shuttle service back to the hotel too. You just need to give them a call. But how to call them when you are not local??
The nearest BTS station to the hotel, Asok Station.
We saw this very pretty xmas decor on our way to 四面佛. And cam whored for quite awhile before leaving.
四面佛
The MCD in BKK sells Broccoli Pie. Which cousin cheered with excitement while I cringed with disgust. Broccoli is one of the vegetable that I totally hate. :s
Walking over to Central World for NaRaYa lovesss...
NaRaYa is love. The 5 of us spent a total of about 6000 Baht in this shop alone.
Packing the loots into the bag for easy carrying. The unglam side of us. :p
We settled Day 2 lunch at Mos Burger. Nothing fascinating. And I think the corn soup in SG is alot better than the one in BKK. But BKK gives a larger portion.
BREADTALK in BKK.
Tom Yum Flavour Bread. We had to try it. :D
There after, we made our way to Platinum Fashion Mall.
No doubt my favourite mall in BKK. ~~~PLATINUM FASHION MALL~~~ Everything a girl needs can be found here. And be pre-warned that once you visit Platinum, You will never buy any dress from any blogshops. They are selling everything at almost a fraction of the price.
The next time I visit BKK, I shall stay at Grand Diamond. And spent 2 full days at Platinum Fashion Mall. :p
We spotted this "Esprit" look-a-like tag. And we couldnt stop laughing at it. It looks exactly like Esprit tag. So cool can.
After shopping, we took a break at Swensens. Even Swensens is so cheap over in BKK. 299 Baht for this chocolate fondue set, not even 15 SGD. I bet if there is something like that in SG, It would at least $22.90 or something.
Chilling and Resting @ Swensens.
And we saw this on the street of BKK. Dont really dare to try. But Hans said it is nice. Maybe when I visit again.
Xmas Tree @ Central World.
Crowded Train Station. The next day 05120009 was the king's birthday. And the Thais were wearing pink as part of the celebration.
The pink crowd.
Somboon Seafood Restaurant. This is a highly recommended Seafood Restaurant. And it is hidden at a secluded corner. About 15mins walk from National Stadium Station.
I am definitely bringing my friends there if they go BKK with me. The food is superb and needless to say, cheap like crazy.
The whole feast costs about $30-$40 SGD only. And my favourite is the Prawn Tang Hoon. Seriously I will have a bowl to myself the next time I go.
Preparing to head back to the hotel after shopping at MBK.
And the mess after Day 2 of BKK.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Day 3 051209 Breaky @ the hotel. I had breakfast at the hotel everyday. :D Their hotcakes and bacons are yum yum. Plus they change some of the menu everyday. So you dont get bored of the food.
And since it is Saturday, we headed off to Chatuchak. I think that is the market no tourist will miss. We were lucky that the heat from the sun was not too unbearable.
Big juicy grapes...
We braved through the ppl and the shops. And seriously looking for one shop in the thousands of shops in CTC is no joke. Besides CTC is not as organized as Suan Lum Night Market. You can practically get lost in the rows and rows of shops. Imagine 50 Bugis Streets all linked up together.
Shopping shopping and more shopping.
We tried coconut ice cream with weird toppings like corn, nut and red bean. The coconut ice cream is nice. :D Me like it. But I probably go without the toppings next time.
We had this coconut jelly as well. But I think this is easily available in SG's pasar malam.
After hovering in CTC for a few hours, We settled for lunch at this duck noodle store. Because we were all hungry and that is the first food store.
Close up of Ducky Noodle.
This is going to get a lil' disgusting. I dont really like the duck noodle. :( The duck meat skin still had feather on it. It was yucks yuCKS YUCKS.
But generally the noodle was all right. I just cant get over the feather on skin part.
After lunch, we continued to shop inside CTC. Till it was too much for my cousin to take. She has flat foot so she cannot walk too much. We proceeded to move out of CTC and head off for foot massage.
With my Er Yi.
And on the way to foot massage, mommy realized that I wore wrong crocs. I did not even know it myself. LOL... The right side belongs to yuexi and it is actually 2 size bigger. I'm such a klutz not to realize it.
I shall not bring same shoes when I go travelling. HAHA.
For the past couple of time, I went for foot massage at random massage parlour. This is the first time I visited a reputable massage parlour. The whole place is really big and it bustling with customers. I guess part of the reason is because it doesnt look sleazy.
The whole massage last for an hour or so. We did foot and shoulder massage for I think 250 Baht or something. Xiao Yi sponsored my massage. :D
Undeniably one of the most enjoyable part of the trip. That raised leg is mine. :D
And off to Suan Lum Night Bazaar. If you are intending to take the trains, There are a couple of ways to reach depending on which part you are at. But the ultimate station to alight is Lumphini.
Oh and they use token instead of card at the MRT. Kinda cute...
On the MRT. I guess only tourist would not feel shy about cam whoring on a train. :p
We decided to have our dinner before exploring Suan Lum. Over here, you purchase coupon before buying your food. You can get refunds on those coupons that are not used.
Mango Salad
Yuexi with her Seafood Spaghetti.
Feasting at the Beer Garden.
I guess all Beer-a-holics would love this place to bits. Cheap beer with live band and soccer match on large TV screen. Too bad I ain't one.
Nevertheless, there wasnt alot of people at Suan Lum that night. Unlike two years ago, where there is an influx of tourists. Personally I dont really like Suan Lum. Because the things there are not cheap. And they sell more handicrafts items than apparels.
The store I bought my cute caterpillar slipper. We bought a total of 15 pairs over here. My cousin is a fan of this store. :D
And Suan Lum Night Bazaar for you.
Snip snap of the MRT station.
We also bought alot of this handmade soaps. They smell really good.
And thereafter it was home sweet home. :)
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Day 4 061209 This was the worst day of the trip. I shall not elaborate too much lah. Cried like a hum bao that day. :( But I am sorry for throwing tantrums and running away just like that. Oh well it is over. So I shall not brood about it.
Cousin with all her loots.
Mommy and my loot.
See now I placed my crocs over here. So that I will not wear the wrong one again. LOL...
Reflection of our messy bedroom.
Off to Siam Square.
Lee Min Ho @ Etude House.
Outside Siam Paragon...
I like this photo of Er Yi.
And mommy dearest @ Central World.
We decided to head back to Platinum Fashion Mall. As most of the stores at Siam Square were not open.
Went to find this Chaho Matcha Teashop. And it is really good. A pity I did not note down the address.
Shopping at roadside store. 20 Baht for a necklace. Where to find???
Lunch at KFC. 2 Chicken Rice + 4 pcs Chicken + 4 pcs Nuggets + fries + 2 drinks. 299 Baht for this whole meal. Damn cheap lah.. :p
BKK's KFC serves spicy chicken rice. How cool is that. I still crave for this so much. Even though it is a lil spicy.
And we had crepes as well. :D
Traffic Congestion in BKK. After 2 years, the road condition at BKK did not improve one bit.
And I bought some products from this beauty shop found in Siam Square. Their concept is like Skinfood and Faceshop.
And their staffs wear like gourmet chef. So cute.
That kinda marked the end of Day 4.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Day 5 071209 Last day of the trip. Preparing to check out.
After checking out, we headed out to Siam Square to do our pedicure. As we were too early, we settled for bites at Mango Tango.
Very pretty interior design.
They have mango inside the lamp where there is no light bulb. so cute..
Mango Paradise. Their mango pudding has real mangoes inside. Very yummy. Me like. :D
After Mango Tango, we headed back to the pedicure shop. Classic Manicure costs only 250Baht. While Classic Pedicure costs 350Baht. Damn cheap lah. And they are pretty meticulous. And Er Yi sponsored my pedicure session. :D
Yuexi - So happy that she cant stop smiling.
Er Yi - Treated like a Queen
Xiao Yi - Pretty fingernails and toenails.
Mommy - Totally jaded.
And yours truely.
@ the airport.
Close up of Broccoli Pie. The rest said it was nice. Sorry but I hate broccoli. :s
BKK's MCD serves Pork Burger. Very nice. I want to go eat when I go back again. And the wrapper is printed in Singapore.
Pedicure Happy Feet. Pardon my dirty slipper, I think it is about time I bring it for a wash.
Waiting to board the plane.
And alas, Home Sweet Home. Oh did I mention, SIA seats are so comfy. I get so much space to be fidgety. HAHA. :p
That is about it. Till then, BKK I will be back. :)
Zouk Missing in the clubbing scene for 6 whole weeks. And finally Zouk with the adi friends. I miss mambo a damn lot...
The first time being claim as demure. Got me chuckling non-stop. :p
